Stand By Me

Took this a few nights ago from my front porch. There's a small pink airplane in the mix of all those telephone wires.

Tomorrow I'm heading down to Brownsville, Oregon for the Stand By Me Celebration.

Eat your heart out, kids.

Not only will there be a pie eating contest there will also be a "dead body" scavenger hunt. You don't understand. I was obsessed with this movie, and not merely because John Cusack, River Pheonix, Corey Feldman, and that kid from Star Trek and Toy Soldiers had starring roles. After I saw the film as a twelve year old, I charted a run away hitchhiking trip to Brownsville with my dad's Triple A map of the US. My good friend and associate Rachel Beck, who's grandparents made an appearance as extras in the pie eating portion of the film, lives in the area so Marty and I hope to meet up with her.


To get you pumped, I have provided a picture of the women's auxiliary club and The Benevolent Order of Antelopes before the complete and total barf-o-rama. Check out more of Andy Lindberg's photos of the Pie Eat film shoot. For the uninitiated, Andy Lindberg is the gentleman who played Lardass.
